Purpose for Collection of Biometric Data

 

Wilmington AASR and the vendor of Wilmington AASR’s web site software may collect, store, and use biometric data solely for employee identification and fraud prevention purposes.

Disclosure and Authorization

To the extent that Wilmington AASR and the vendor of Wilmington AASR’s web site software collect, capture, or otherwise obtain biometric data relating to an employee, Wilmington AASR must first:

  • Inform the employee in writing that Wilmington AASR and the vendor of Wilmington AASR’s web site software are collecting, capturing, or otherwise obtaining the member’s biometric data and that Wilmington AASR is providing such biometric data to the vendor of Wilmington AASR’s web site software;

  • Inform the employee in writing of the specific purpose and length of time for which the member’s biometric data is being collected, stored, and used; and

  • Receive a written release signed by the employee (or his or her legally authorized representative) authorizing Wilmington AASR and the vendor of Wilmington AASR’s web site software to collect, store, and use the member’s biometric data for the specific purposes disclosed by Wilmington AASR, and for Wilmington AASR to provide such biometric data to the vendors and the licensor of Wilmington AASR’s web site software.

 

Wilmington AASR and the vendors of Wilmington AASR’s web site software will not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from member’s biometric data; provided, however, that Wilmington AASR’s vendor of Wilmington AASR’s time and attendance software may be paid for products or services used by Wilmington AASR that utilize such biometric data.
